Citizens 4 Traffic Relief (C4TR)
Citizens for Traffic Relief is a nonprofit grassroots coalition of Maryland citizens, businesses, and nonprofit organization focused on investing in Maryland’s transportation network to improve our quality of life and expand opportunity for everyone in Maryland.
ATON Strategies created a comprehensive government relations and grassroots engagement plan to help C4TR access the silent majority of Maryland supporters. To do this, ATON Strategies:
Created social media presence and campaign in support of utilizing a Public Private Partnership (P3) to fund and build critical infrastructure
Generated over 3,700 emails to legislators in support of using a P3 financing structure to fund needed transportation infrastructure
Presented public testimony in support of the P3 program at County Legislative Forums prior to legislative session
Met with key state legislators in Maryland, Congressional and Senate leadership in Washington, and business leadership groups to educate and build support
Communicated and educated the general public at booths set up at county fairs
Testified against 13 anti-P3 bills resulting in the ultimate defeat of all bills in committee
